Fun with words and words for fun

pigs-flyFor years now our government has been running a Kabuki Theater on us. Every day we see the same crap over and over. We’re told one thing, but the government’s interests go somewhere else. We’re told the government cares and “will get to the bottom of what’s going on,” but it never does. Congressional approval hovers around 18%. About 50% of Congressmen are millionaires and more than 60% of Senators are millionaires. Their median net worth is more than one million dollars and thus one lawmaker’s net worth is more than eighteen regular American households combined. No wonder Nancy Pelosi referred to the tax cuts as crumbs.

We’ve come to insanity, of course. The informal definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. In this regard we fought the war on poverty for more than 50 years without actually putting a dent in poverty in America or changing the demographics of the poor. In this regard, we’ve spent more and more and more money per capita on education and yet we rank approximately fifteenth in the world in education. And that’s being kind of kind.

It gets worse, not better. The Democrats, who have been mostly in charge of our inner cities, have managed to create and sustain urban centers where poverty abounds, murder rates soar, crime is rampant, education is poor and the homeless litter the streets defecating wherever they choose while the police are instructed not to bother them.

Of course when asked about it the Democrats will continually blame other people and other things while they make sanctuary cities which allow more poor, more ignorant, more culturally dissociated people to roam freely and use the limited resources that are available. The Democrats insist they have no culpability and they insist that they are looking after the best interests of the American citizens. They are only power-hungry, and like the laws of Social Darwinism” dictate, they are only striving to keep power. Or, as what happens when the goals shift from wanting to do good by servicing the American citizens who elected them to keeping and increasing their power, they have lost their way, gone amok if you will.

Kabuki theater.

If the Democrats cared for the American people they would denounce what happened to Justice Kavanaugh. They would uphold innocent until proven guilty. They would denounce the bias in the media. They would castigate people like Louis Farrakhan and distance themselves from people like Harvey Weinstein, Bill Clinton and Keith Ellison. They would be willing to accept a deal on DACA and secure the borders while working with the Republicans and the President on Immigration reform. They would own up to their search and destroy mission against President Trump and they would surely denounce personal attacks against his family.

But pigs don’t fly.

How stupid are we?

Talking about America, there seems to be no limit to the depth of our stupidity, the depth of the pit of stupidity we have fallen into. It’s rather amazing actually. Think about it. When the Soviet Union collapsed and the Berlin wall came down, the United States was the only world power. In the thirty years since then we have allowed Russia to regain its world-power status and we have allowed China to become a world power. China’s economy has overtaken ours and just recently, for the first time ever, the dollar is no longer   the  world currency.

So how stupid are we? Well, how stupid can you be?

The war on poverty has been going on for fifty-two years, since 1965. We’ve poured  twenty-three billion dollars into it. That’s 23,000,000,000. For that money there has been no real noticeable change in the poverty rate and no real change in the demographics of the people in poverty. Yet we continue down the same road. Stupid?

As regards education, we spend more per capita than any other country and yet we still rank only fifteenth in the world in education. Now that’s not a big bang for the buck. Furthermore, segregation was outlawed in 1954 and yet our schools are becoming more and more segregated. The rate at which segregation is occurring continues to increase.

Stupid?

It gets better. There are those who fought against segregation who now insist they have a right to their own spaces, or they insist that whites not be allowed into certain spaces. Well then…

Stupid? You bet

Just as stupid and actually most dangerous to our society is the disregard shown for logic and facts. Replacing logic and facts are feelings and subjectivity. The gender identity laws exemplify this. But that raises a controversial issue and God forbid that should happen. So let’s put it this way. Mr. X doesn’t have any cash and can’t buy that five-dollar super mochaccino he wants because he left his wallet in his Porsche. He feels poor. He identifies with poor people at that moment. In accordance with the gender identity rules, he   is poor. He identifies himself as poor, ergo, by the new rules, he is poor. If that happened on April 15th, Mr. X should be eligible for not paying taxes and even getting an earned income credit.

Stupid? Beyond stupid. How stupid can we be?

Let’s see. Remember “you have to sign it to see what’s in it?” Stupid? Well, what’s even more stupid is that she’s still in office and the head of her party.   She’s   not stupid. She didn’t have to read it because she doesn’t have to deal with it. She and her cronies voted themselves an exception so they could stay on the government congressional plan. That’s the Cadillac of Cadillacs plan.

Stupid? Not them! Us. More than half of them are millionaires And they way their positions work, they don’t really have to pay for anything. Our tax dollars pay for everything. Or, they’re having a great, self-enriching time on our dime. So how stupid can we be?

Russia. Russia’s goal is to create chaos here in America. Well, look at what our media have been pushing for the last eight months or so. Look at what the party of opposition has done. How stupid are we as a people and as a nation? Haven’t we played right into Putin’s hands? Stupid.

Well, aren’t we stupid for allowing all this to go on? Aren’t we more stupid for continuing to fund it?

Finally, as the liberals push left toward the welfare state and socialism, history tells us that capitalism and the free market pay for the bulk of all charity work done throughout the world. It also tells us that no socialist government thus far has ever managed to succeed. Why would we push toward that which we know will fail?

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Really, how stupid are we?

Ask a Jew in Nazi occupied territory before and during WWII about Nazis. Ask him/her about the ghetto.  Ask if they could have ripped off the Star of David they were forced to wear and freely walked out of the gates to go move someplace else.

Then, let’s talk about Nazi comparisons and Hitler comparisons to President-Elect Trump. Rational minds do not even entertain such ridiculousness. Irrational and politically-oriented minds post such comparisons on social media to incite the unthinking lambs who think they are cute and then re-post the idiocy. The media people eager to make a story or further their careers and/or  their political ideology exploit the posts on the airwaves and in the newspapers by making them into stories.  This is not normal. In fact, it’s as abnormal as a man saying he feels like a woman on any given morning and so he’s considered a woman and allowed to use the women’s bathroom.

Rational minds know better. Rational minds know that if people could be classified according to their feelings on any given day, then every April 15th the fifty-one percent of the American people who pay taxes would say they feel poor and would be classified as poor so as to get money back instead of having to pay.

Rational people know that what the blacks in America refer to as the ghetto is not really a ghetto. It may have some similarities, but even that’s a little stretch. It’s hyperbole and nothing more, a rhetorical device they use to keep themselves where they are.

And so we come to the leftist rhetoric and the destructive Democratic rhetoric specifically designed to denigrate and de-legitimize President-Elect Donald Trump. But in this case, at this time, it works simultaneously to serve another equally destructive purpose. It organizes and further enslaves those minorities who still believe that the Democrats have their backs. Yes. Those lambs are enslaved by the Democrats who are without doubt paying the bill for Fascist/Nazi/Hitler rhetoric aimed at blocking the Republicans from doing what the American people elected them to do. Not only did the American people elect them, but in doing so they rejected the despicable Dems who labeled more than half the American people as deplorable and irredeemable. Those are the same despicable Dems who cannot accept their loss and who still believe that only their vision for America is the vision. Or, like the chief despicable Dem, the exiting the White House one, that belief, that only their way is the right way, is the irrational cry of extreme egotists.

Look at what their more than half a century’s control over our inner cities has wrought. Then it is clear how truly delusional their proclamations are, especially the ones coming from their leaders about how only they care for the little people. Just look at what their care has done.

The Hillary Clinton team’s billionaire patrons paid for the Nazi/Hitler/Fascist rhetoric that the Clinton campaign leaders laid on Trump through the biased media because they thought it would make her a winner. Along with Obama and the narcissist leftists, they have perpetrated the narrative to scare their troops into thug behavior in the name of righteousness. It stinks to high heaven.

Anyone with any common sense can see what is going on. The leftists think if they can say it enough, people will believe that Trump is Hitler reincarnated. Such comparisons insult any person who fought the fascists in the second world war. Furthermore, they insult every Jew alive and especially those who are Survivors or relatives of Survivors.

Leftist scare tactics only incite fear and chaos. The lefties know this and are purposeful about it. But such tactics only make the right-wing more popular and accepted because the tactics are so underhanded and evil in and of themselves.

more-truthIt’s not cool to look at history these days. Nowadays, it’s much easier to see something on social media and press a few buttons to post it as if it were fact. History is being revised and rewritten. This is one of the greatest modern dangers being pushed by the leftist Democrat supporters and being tolerated, hence accepted by the Democratic party. Not only is revisionist history a modern danger. It is a clear threat to America’s existence as a free country.

Another of the greatest modern dangers and threats to America is the readily apparent bias in the media. When more than the 90 percent of the stories about the President, like  him or not, are negative, bias is pretty obvious. Then of course there are the narratives, quite false for the most part, that are continually pushed. You know, the racist narrative and the collusion narrative.

Most despicable is the comparison to Hitler and the overtly calling him Hitler-like. This is offensive to everyone who actually suffered through what Hitler did. It especially insults and belittles the actions of our WWII heroes and their remaining families. Here again is the demeaning and negative work of the Democrats and their blatant disregard for America and the American people.

The Democrats should be calling for an unbiased mainstream media. Their not doing so only  underscores their lack of concern for the country and their acceptance of the support of a biased media hiding behind the First Amendment. Bias in the media is antithetical to what America stands for.

A third great modern danger and threat to America was played out in the Kavanaugh hearings. It was/is the disregard for innocent until proven guilty, the main tenet of the American justice system. As in the Russian collusion debacle, now, after the fact, we hear the stories of how NBC sat on definitive evidence that Avenati’s client—the one who made claims of Kavanaugh’s spiking the punch at the ten gang-rape parties—was not telling the truth. Yes, they had evidence to debunk those claims but held it back. Ring a bell? NBC has done that before, recently too.

A fourth great modern danger and threat to America is the continual attacks on America’s institutions. The Democrats now call for abolishing the Electoral College, abolishing ICE and disregarding law and order. They call for sanctuary cities. They advocate for allowing illegal aliens to vote, hold office and collect welfare and social security benefits. They  hide the costs of these things to the American public and allow illegal alien criminals to prey upon the populace. The media assist the Democrats here too by perpetrating the false narrative that “those poor people”  are all innocents. In fact, their very first acts in America are to break the law and then hide from it.

The Democrats would have us believe the real threats we face are global warming, (now called climate change)  and Russia. In fact, the real threats to America are their relentless disregard for the rule of law and the continual undermining of the very institutions upon which America was founded.

When the Democrats’ desire for power is so great they are willing to allow history to be rewritten, bias in the media to be perpetuated and the very institutions upon which America was founded to continually be attacked, we are in real peril.

the-walking-dead-zombie-season-6Resident Evil, The Walking Dead, The Hunger Games: all these movies have a common theme of division. There are the herds (the regular ordinary people) are there are the elites (the rich and famous, the politicians, the business titans, etc.). The populace is thus divided. Powerful and powerless, rich and poor, elite and ordinary, strong and weak, independent and dependent are some of the ways to view the division.

Make no mistake, all those leaders calling for a trend toward socialism, aka the Democrat leaders and their actor/actress friends, belong to one group and it isn’t the ordinary-people group.

So what does that tell you?

Of course the herds, the regular people, are more divided than the elites. The herds are separated by race, ethnicity, education and religion. They’re also separated by politics and political beliefs. There’s no joining factor within the herds like there is for the elites. The elites are all joined at the hip by money.

Let’s be clear. All those Hollywood elites, the ones who object to being called elites and who want to be acknowledged as “regular people” like the less-than-one-percent of the population with ordinary incomes belong to the elite class. They are not part of the herd and not part of the zombies   they want the herd to be. They live in the gated cities and are protected by bodyguards who are armed. Still they support and advocate for the Democrats’ goal of moving toward socialism.

Taylor Swift, the latest one to come out for the Dems:  net worth of 280 million
Robert De Niro net worth: about 200 million
Madonna net worth:  about 590 million
Ashley Judd net worth:  only a paltry 22 million
Johnny Depp net worth: about 200 million
Jimmy Kimmel net worth: about 35 million
Jimmy Fallon net worth: about 45 million
Alec Baldwin net worth: about 65 million
Rosie O’Donnell net worth: about 135 million
Bill Maher net worth: about 100 million
Whoopi Goldberg (who said she would leave the country if Trump were elected, but didn’t) net worth: about 45 million

Okay. So you get the idea. What would socialized medicine mean to them?  Would the long lines at hospitals and for doctors, kind of like it is in England, affect them at all? Do they have to live with or fear the everyday violence in Chicago? Even if all the guns were taken away, the illegal guns would still be out there. But these people have protection and live in the gated cities.

The idea is simple. In order to accomplish an end, the Democrats must: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it,” Saul Alinsky’s thirteenth rule. Alinsky’s eleventh rule is “If you push a negative hard and deep enough it   will break through into its counterside.”

For more than two years the Democrats and their supporters have been pushing the negatives, haven’t they? As we now see, they did this even before Trump was elected and they have been doing it for much longer than that. Division and polarization are their tools for obtaining power. They’re openly planning it as their after-election tactics.

Maxine Waters net worth: about 5 million. In 2005 she was only worth about half a million. She’s been in Congress since 1990 on a salary of about 170 thousand. How did she do that?

The Democrats and their elite friends have a vested interest in keeping us, the regular people, as their zombies. They tout socialism because it offers free stuff, but they will not be  affected by its implementation or suffer the effects of its failure. Conversely, they will greatly benefit from its implementation.

Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it.

deep state

The campaign to overturn the 2016 election and bring down President Trump shifted into high gear this week.

Inspiration came Saturday morning from the altar of the National Cathedral where our establishment came to pay homage to John McCain.

Gathered there were all the presidents from 1993 to 2017, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Vice Presidents Al Gore and Dick Cheney, Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and Henry Kissinger, the leaders of both houses of Congress, and too many generals and admirals to list.

Striding into the pulpit, Obama delivered a searing indictment of the man undoing his legacy:

“So much of our politics, our public life, our pubic discourse can seem small and mean and petty, trafficking in bombast and insult and phony controversies and manufactured outrage. . . . It’s a politics that pretends to be brave and tough but in fact is born of fear.”

Speakers praised McCain’s willingness to cross party lines, but Democrats took away a new determination: From here on out, confrontation!

Tuesday morning, as Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court began, Democrats disrupted the proceedings and demanded immediate adjournment, as scores of protesters shouted and screamed to halt the hearings.

Taking credit for orchestrating the disruption, Sen. Dick Durbin boasted, “What we’ve heard is the noise of democracy.”

But if mob action to shut down a Senate hearing is the noise of democracy, this may explain why many countries are taking a new look at the authoritarian rulers who can at least deliver a semblance of order.

Wednesday came leaks in The Washington Post from Bob Woodward’s new book, attributing to Chief of Staff John Kelly and Gen. James Mattis crude remarks on the president’s intelligence, character and maturity, and describing the Trump White House as a “crazytown” led by a fifth- or sixth-grader.

Kelly and Mattis both denied making the comments.

Thursday came an op-ed in The New York Times by an anonymous “senior official” claiming to be a member of the “resistance . . . working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his (Trump’s) agenda.”

A pedestrian piece of prose containing nothing about Trump one cannot read or hear daily in the media, the op-ed caused a sensation, but only because Times editors decided to give the disloyal and seditious Trump aide who wrote it immunity and cover to betray his or her president.

The transaction served the political objectives of both parties.

While the Woodward book may debut at the top of The New York Times best-seller list, and “Anonymous,” once ferreted out and fired, will have his or her 15 minutes of fame, what this portends is not good.

For what is afoot here is something America specializes in — regime change. Only the regime our establishment and media mean to change is the government of the United States. What is afoot is the overthrow of America’s democratically elected head of state.

The methodology is familiar. After a years-long assault on the White House and president by a special prosecutor’s office, the House takes up impeachment, while a collaborationist press plays its traditional supporting role.

Presidents are wounded, disabled or overthrown, and Pulitzers all around.

No one suggests Richard Nixon was without sin in trying to cover up the Watergate break-in. But no one should delude himself into believing that the overthrow of that president, not two years after he won the greatest landslide in U.S. history, was not an act of vengeance by a hate-filled city that ran a sword through Nixon for offenses it had covered up or brushed under the rug in the Roosevelt, Kennedy and Johnson years.

So, where are we headed?

If November’s elections produce, as many predict, a Democratic House, there will be more investigations of President Trump than any man charged with running the U.S. government may be able to manage.

There is the Mueller investigation into “Russiagate” that began before Trump was inaugurated. There is the investigation of his business and private life before he became president in the Southern District of New York. There is the investigation into the Trump Foundation by New York State.

There will be investigations by House committees into alleged violations of the Emoluments Clause. And ever present will be platoons of journalists ready to report the leaks from all of these investigations.

Then, if media coverage can drive Trump’s polls low enough, will come the impeachment investigation and the regurgitation of all that went before.

If Trump has the stamina to hold on, and the Senate remains Republican, he may survive, even as Democrats divide between a rising militant socialist left and the Democrats’ septuagenarian caucus led by Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi.

2019 looks to be the year of bellum omnium contra omnes, the war of all against all. Entertaining, for sure, but how many more of these coups d’etat can the Republic sustain before a new generation says enough of all this?

Patrick Buchanan has been an adviser to three presidents, a two-time candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, and the nominee for the Reform Party in 2000. He was also a founding member of “The McLaughlin Group,” which began on NBC, and CNN’s “Capital Gang” and “Crossfire.” His latest book is: “The Greatest Comeback: How Richard Nixon Rose From Defeat to Create the New Majority.” For more of his reports, Go Here Now.
